Chadima, Margaret Marie
Margaret Marie Chadima, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Mercy Hallmar. Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with Father Chris Podhajsky presiding. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services Friday at Brosh Chapel.
Margaret was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Pech) Viktor. She graduated from McKinley High School. Margaret worked for Troy Laundry, Collins Radio, and also at Washington High School as a custodian. She had also been a model for Corrine Shover in the 1950s. Margaret married Don Chadima in June 1943.
She enjoyed cleaning her home, gardening, manicuring her lawn, watching birds and toads, and spending time outdoors. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for most of her life.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Barbara Schmitz of Cedar Rapids; as well as her nephews and niece, Joseph Viktor, Mike (Pam) Schmitz, Allan Viktor and Diane (Don) Raymond; and a special friend, Lois Valentine.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, George Letovsky; her parents; a daughter, Jennifer Olinger; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Viktor; and Don Chadima.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
