Ceynar, Rose
Rose Ceynar, 94, of Oxford, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Oxford Chapel of Gay & Ciha Funeral Service. Burial will follow at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rose was born May 21, 1918, in rural Benton County, Iowa, the daughter of Wes and Sylvia (Dloughy) Svoboda. She attended schools in the Amana area. Rose was united in marriage to Richard Ceynar on July 8, 1936, in Swisher.
Her family includes three sons, Robert Ceynar and his wife, Sandy, of Pearland, Texas, Ronald Ceynar of Cedar Rapids and Raymond Ceynar and his wife, Sally, of Oxford; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; granddaughter, Tammy Ceynar DeLaney; great-grandson, Nicholas Ceynar; two brothers, Wesley and Joseph Svoboda; and five sisters, Mary Mouchka, Anne Novak, Lillian Vanous, Barbara Pracha and Jane Rotter.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Care Initiatives Hospice.
