Ceynar, Mary Patricia (Dougherty)
Mary Patricia (Dougherty) Ceynar of Thorton, Colo., left this world March 30, 2013, after many years with a long-term illness.
Mary “Pat” was born March 27, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, first born of Edward and Kathleen (Butler) Dougherty. She was later joined by brothers, James and John Dougherty.
Pat attended K-12 at St. Patrick's in Cedar Rapids, then attended St. Teresa's College in Winnona, Minn. She met David Ceynar, the love of her life, while still in high school. They married Aug. 3, 1957, after Dave's discharge from the Marine Corps. Pat and Dave had four children. The family moved to Thorton in 1972.
Pat was a busy mother who enjoyed many crafts and reading good books. After retiring from the USPS, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by brother, James; son, Ron; and her husband, David.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Linda (Mike) Conley, Lisa Ceynar and Denise Ceynar; brother, John (Diane) Dougherty; grandchildren, Jake Conley, Bill (Jessica), Rick (Catrina), Kate Engler and Vito, David and Gianna Lopo; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Devin and Allison Engler and Lance and Kadence Engler; sisters-in-law, Suzanne (Tom) Carver, Pat Ceynar, Kathy Ceynar and Diane Ceynar; brothers-in-law, Mike and Ed (Dot) Ceynar; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews; and lifetime best friend, Mary Kay (Jack) Uthe.
Memorials may be given to the Arbor Day Foundation.
