CELIA J. HENDERSON

Celia J. Henderson, 90, of Arlington, Iowa, passed away, Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, conducted by Pastor Jon Moss. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mills Cemetery in Central City at a later date.
Celia is survived by her children, Terry (Mary) Henderson of Arlington, Colin (Wende Kelsey) Henderson of Cedar Rapids, and Denise Henderson of Keystone; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Henderson of Cedar Rapids; and Pinky the cat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaVerne; her daughter, Debbie Henderson; and two brothers, Jack and Duane Henderson.
Celia was born April 27, 1927, the daughter of Eddie and Laura (Dorman) Henderson in Coggon. On Nov. 23, 1947, she married LaVerne Henderson at the Presbyterian Church in Coggon. Celia was an elementary schoolteacher for over 25 years at Starmont School District. Celia was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church.
She loved quilting, puzzles, playing cards and camping, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the East Central Iowa Alzheimer's Associaton.
