Memorial Visitation, for Cedric Lofdahl, will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 4420 Center Point Rd NE, Cedar Rapids until the 11:00 am Service, followed by lunch.
Cedric Lofdahl was born October 9, 1933, in Cedarville, MI. He died Saturday, November 2, 2024. He graduated from Cedarville High School in 1951, from Michigan State University in 1955 as a Chemical Engineer, working for Dupont Chemical in Newburgh, NY. Illness forced him back to Cedarville where a new medicine cured him. While there he worked with his father, a carpenter/contractor, designing two buildings which they built. Cedric taught Mathematics at the local school when a late August resignation produced a vacancy. He graduated from Augustana Theological Seminary in 1981, and taught Math subjects at Augustana College while in Seminary. Cedric married Marcia Croonquist in 1959. He served churches in Bismarck, ND and Cedar Rapids, IA.
Survivors include Marcia, his wife of 65 years; sons, Eric (Eileen Restrepo) Lofdahl and Andrew (Rhonda) Lofdahl; grandchildren, Victoria (Mitch) Jewell, Jacob Lofdahl and Jessica Lofdahl; great-grandchildren, Isabel and Kenneth Jewell; sister, Sonya Clegg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Rozalia Lofdahl; parents-in-law, Edgar and Helen; brother, Laurence Lofdahl; and half-siblings, Clarence Lofdahl and June Beveridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Social Services Iowa, or the Greater Cedar Rapids Foundation to be divided between Orchestra Iowa and Cedar Rapids Opera.
