Cecilia M. Weepie, 102, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at West Village Care Center in Independence. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Immaculate Conception Church in Fairbank, with Father Paul McManus officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary.
Cecilia M. Weepie was born Sept. 18, 1911, the daughter of John and Mary (Weiser) Weepie. She lived her entire life on the farm where she was born until moving into Assisted Living and then to ABCM Corp. (West Village Care Center) in Independence in April 2008.
She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Church, where she graduated from high school. Ce-cilia enjoyed nature and going for rides, writing and receiving letters, visits and phone calls from relatives and friends, playing cards and reminiscing about her earlier years. She especially enjoyed cooking and caring for her brothers, Willie and Paul.
Cecilia is survived by many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Willie and Paul.
