Cecil Holeton, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Cremation rites have been facilitated by FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at North English Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Cecil's name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Cecil's arrangements and his family.
Cecil Raymond Holeton was born on April 1, 1933, in North English, Iowa, to John and Martha D. (Smith) Holeton. Cecil served his country in the United States Army. He retired from H.J. Heinz after 28 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion. Cecil enjoyed hunting, fishing and auction sales. He liked traveling to Pennsylvania to visit his sister and her family. He was a great conversationalist and enjoyed talking with people whether he knew them or not. His greatest enjoyment was time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Cecil will be deeply missed by his brother, Marvin (Kathy) Holeton of Oxford, Iowa; special friends, Glen Kurz, Niki Malcolm and Anita Titus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bryon, Otis, Milford and Wayne Holeton; and two sisters, Manie Conoway and Leta Aggson.
