Cecil Graham, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial: Iowa Veteran's Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Terry, Bobbie (Jerry) Scherrman, Harold (Lauri) and Roy (Maria); grandchildren, Randy, Adam (Jo Ann) Hoffmann, Ashley (Sean) Carey, Justin (Kassi) Scherrman, Jacob (Ashley) Scherrman, Hayley, Logan, Tanner and Nickolas; and great-grandchildren, Emerson Carey and Chloe Scherrman.
Wilford Cecil Graham was born May 2, 1932, in Rockford, Ill., to William and Emma (Hurita) Graham. He attended McKinley High School, Cedar Rapids. Cecil married Shirley Secrist on May 29, 1954. He served in the Air Force Military Police Corp., then worked for Drew's Sporting Goods as a gun and locksmith. He moved with Drew's to Killian's when they sublet the sporting goods and toy departments. After Killian's, he began working for Kmart, retiring after 26 years. Cecil enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. The family has many special memories of trips to Florida, and Table Rock and Norfork Lakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley, of 62 years; sisters, Patty (Chuck) Chase, Dorothy (Dale) Nosek and Donna Jean Graham; and brother, William Graham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Veteran's Home.
