Cecil A. Dennis, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died April 3, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Cecil is survived by his children, Mark Dennis and Tressa Dennis, both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Fred Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertha; daughter, Tonya; sisters, Lucille Houston and Virginia Behrends; and brother, Melvin Dennis.
Cecil was born April 6, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Charles and Leora (Smith) Dennis. He married Bertha Burks on Nov. 27, 1964, in Rock Island, Ill. Cecil was a self-employed auto body repairman and truly enjoyed street rods.
He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
His family finds peace in knowing that he and his loving wife, Bertha, are together again.
