Cecelia L. Gulrud, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away
on Monday, July 12, 2021. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A memorial service and burial will take place immediately following. A livestream of the memorial service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Cecelia, under the video tab starting at 2 p.m. July 19.
Cecelia Lorraine Landgren was born on Aug. 4, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Alex and Cecelia (Tupy) Landgren. She attended St. Ludmila School. She was united in marriage to Everett W. Kennedy in 1953. Cecelia worked at Electronics Co. and Quaker Oats, before becoming a full time farm wife in 1960. She later married Gene Gulrud in 1998. She was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Cecelia enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, getting together with family, attending concerts and dancing. She especially loved animals, including her three cockatiels, Joey, Angel and Derecho, and her outdoor kitties.
Cecelia is survived by her children, Liane (Randy) Kennedy, Everett J. (Rhonda) Kennedy and Gloria Kennedy; grandchildren, Bryan (Jenni) Johnson and Sarah (Matt) Klostermann; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Rhyle, Tilmon, Kamryn and Kylin; and eight step-children; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Everett; second husband, Gene; sister, Adeline Marx; and brother, Delbert Landgren.
Memorial donations may be made in Cecelia's name to a charity of your choosing.
