Cecelia Alice Meyer, 90, of Iowa City passed away Jan. 19, 2021, at Briarwood Health Care Center after contracting COVID-19 just a few days before her death.
Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A family prayer service was held prior to the cremation and was recorded for others to watch by going to her tribute wall on Lensing Funeral Home's website www.lensingfuneral.com. Public services will be held at a later date with burial in Churdan, Iowa, Highland Cemetery. Service details will be announced when they have been decided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
Cecelia is survived by her children, Mark Meyer (Marge Wright), Iowa City, Iowa, Kent Meyer (Wanetta Newberry-Meyer), Loveland, Colo., Julie Hartman, Corvallis, Ore., and Jeffrey (Anita) Meyer, Grandview, Mo.; her sister, Regina Netherton, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother, James; and two granddaughters, Rose Meyer and Ava Hartman.
