Cecak, Marvin Joseph

Marvin Joseph Cecak, 81, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary of Toledo; his children, Jim Cecak of Clutier, Sharon (Dean) Knoop of Clutier, Joe (Jo Ellen) Cecak of Toledo, Sue (Dan) Vesely of Elberon, John (Judy) Cecak of Belle Plaine and Sam (Bill) Carter of Elberon; 12 grandchildren, Doug (Kelli) Knoop, Deanna (Derrick) Nederhoff, Emma Knoop, Melissa (Brad) Mauseth, Ben Cecak, Brad Cecak, Wendell (Sarah Zien) Knoop, Alicia Knoop, Ciara Cecak, Tristan Cecak, Cassie (Rich DeFauw) Carter and Carrie Carter; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Marcella (Frank) Kriz of Clutier, Marjorie Nekola of Tama, Edward (Shirley) Cecak of Newhall, Joyce Cecak of Tama, Dianne Pokorny of Clutier, and Dale (Judy) Cecak of LeGrand; and several nieces and nephews.
