Cazanas, Penny
Memorial services for Penny Cazanas will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill in Coralville. The family will greet friends after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Penny was born June 23, 1957, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of A. John and Maryellen (Meiers) Cazanas.
Penny was employed as a senior technical editor at Pearson since 1991. Before that she lived in Clear Lake and Minneapolis.
Penny attended the Unitarian Universalist Society of Iowa City and was a past member of Bicyclists of Iowa City. She was a member of the Society of Technical Communicators. While living in Clear Lake she volunteered at the Humane Society.
Penny was a generous and loving aunt, and she loved the time spent with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed bicycling and rode several times on RAGBRAI.
Survivors include her mother, Maryellen Cazanas of Coralville; two sisters, Vicki (Dick) Siefers of Coralville and Joanna (Scot) Lindley of Nora Springs; her nieces and nephews, Andrea Siefers of Raleigh, N.C., Kyle Siefers of Iowa City and Cody and Amber Lindley of Nora Springs.
She was preceded in death by her father, A. John Cazanas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
