Cathy Denise Sellers, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. In honor of Cathy's wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Cedar Rapids Eagles Club, 1735 11th St. NW. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Larry; three daughters, Penny (Chris) Stewart of Denmark and Renee Butts and Kelli (Josh) Rozendaal, both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Jason (Lindsey O'Brine) Butts of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Anaysia, Jaylen, Jacob, Brodey, Logan, Alex and Adam; her father, Richard Davisson of Cedar Rapids; five sisters, including her twin sister, Bonnie Marks of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Brown of Solon, and Natalie (Larry) Joens, Lori (Michael) Oldorf and Carrie (Robert) Rice, all of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene.
Cathy was born Jan. 15, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Richard and Loretta (Marlene) Peiffer Davisson. She was a 1976 graduate of LaSalle High School and worked for 13 years as a medical transcriptionist at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Cathy enjoyed making jewelry in her home and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cathy's family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their wonderful and compassionate care.
