Catherine 'Cathy' 'Kitty' Haddy
CATHERINE "CATHY" "KITTY" MARIE HADDY Cedar Rapids Catherine "Cathy" "Kitty" Marie Haddy, 43, died Jan. 30, 2021, after a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was an impossible miracle baby and a joy to all who knew her. Her career was very important to her. Cathy had just surpassed her 21-year work anniversary at Windstream, most recently as a project manager. Starting in customer service, it was clear early on that her drive, passion for knowledge and work ethic would make her stand apart. Kitty loved a challenge and quickly became the go to when things got ugly. She would often joke the messier the better!
She was known for her big smile, generosity and compassion. One stop at her desk and you quickly knew the most important things in her life were her spunky niece Zelda and her beloved late mother Debby. The walls of her cubical were covered in pictures of her two favorite ladies mixed in with her Star Trek treasures she had gotten from her brother David.
She was respected and admired by all those who came in contact with her. She was a fiercely loyal friend and devoted employee who cannot be replaced. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Clarence and Orpha Allers and Sam and Fannie Haddy; and her mother and best friend, Debby Haddy. She is survived by her father, Gary Haddy; brother and sister-in-law, David and Amy Haddy (Boswell); niece, Zelda Haddy, as well as uncle and aunt, Dan and Jo Allers; aunt, Peggy Barron; aunt, Janice Abraham; and many cousins. Please leave a message for the family the website www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries. Donations can be made in Cathy Haddy's name to St. George's Church Cemetery Fund. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
