Castle, Emma Krob
Emma Krob Castle, 95, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Marion, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in New York City, after a long illness following a stroke. Funeral mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. The Rev. David Beckman will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where there will be a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.
Survivors include her son, John K. Castle and his wife, Marianne of Palm Beach, Fla. and New York City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a son-in-Law, Dr. Lyle Hedges of Jefferson City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maryanne Castle Hedges; and two sisters, Henrietta Schlueter and Helen Nalley.
Mrs. Castle was born on March 9, 1915, in Solon, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Brock Krob. She was a very gifted pianist who enjoyed playing for her family and friends. Mrs. Castle was a devoted Catholic all of her life and carried that devotion to the love and care given to her family. She will be truly missed.
