Cashman, Jacque L.
Jacque L. Cashman, 61, of Vinton, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, following a courageous battle with cancer. A visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton. According to her wishes, Jacque's body will be cremated and she will be laid to rest with her husband, David in Big Grove Cemetery in rural Garrison.
Jacque was born July 27, 1951, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of William Harold and Helen North Bruce. She graduated from high school in 1969. On July 3, 1970, Jacque was united in marriage with David Russell Cashman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2012.
Jacque was self-employed as an in-home care giver. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vinton. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, boating and bingo.
Jacque is survived by her mother, Helen Bruce of Vinton; one son, Marc (Jade Horning) Cashman of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Brigette (Heath) Ayers of Cedar Rapids and Nichole (Jeff) Silberger of Vinton; three brothers, Mike (Cindy) Bruce of La Porte City, Steve (Michelle) Bruce and Jeff (Penny) Bruce, both of Vinton; one sister, Colleen (Mitch) Long of Vinton; and six grandchildren, Destinee, Brady and Alicia Silberger and Caden, Avrien and Brixen Ayers.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; one brother, Norman Bruce; and one grandson, Maddox.
A memorial fund has been established.
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Jacque and her family.
