J. Carlton "Carty" Mangold, 88, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at his residence at Halcyon House. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, July 10, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Private family services will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Memorials have been established for Red Brick School, Hospice of Washington County and Planned Parenthood of Southeast Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mangold of Washington; son, Mark Mangold and wife Gretchen of Lakewood, Wash.; son, John Mangold and wife Julie of Washington; daughter, Cathy McAvoy and husband Dana of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Nancy Zear and husband Jeff of Iowa City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
