Carsner, Marie
Marie Carsner, 85, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Crestview Acres Care Center following a brief illness.Private family services will be held at the Hopkinton, Iowa Cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is caring for Marie and her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Lou; four grandchildren, Robin, Brian, Hailie and Brandi;four stepchildren, Don Carsner, Marion, Dan Carsner, Houston, Texas, Kitty Williams, Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Dick Carsner, Rocky Mount, N.C.; 11 stepgrandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Richard Richardson and Richard Carsner; her daughter, Mary; and a son, Richard Jr.
Marie Helen Metcalf was born July 16, 1926,in Perham, Minn., the daughter of Perry and Helen (Gladback) Metcalf. She married Richard Richardson on Jan. 5, 1943.The couple had three children, Richard Jr., Mary and Cindy Lou. Richard died July 4, 1965. Marie married Richard Carsner on July 25, 1972.He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1990. Marie was employed at Collins for many years, retiring in 1973.
