Carroll “Gene” Arnold, 85 years old, of Walker, IA, died of natural causes, Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, IA.
Visitation was held 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at White Funeral Home, Independence, IA.
Private graveside services will be Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton, IA.
Gene was born February 3, 1939, in rural Buchanan County, outside of Walker, IA, the son of Oscar John Arnold and Leona (Potter) Arnold. He farmed and was a lifetime resident of Walker.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bev Arnold of Walker, IA; his six children, Anita (Patrick McMullen) Arnold of Center Point, IA, Angie (Brett) Thein of Woodstock, GA, Jon (Lisa Rees) Arnold of Manchester, IA, Annette (Brian) Voss of Weatherford, TX, Anna (Brian) Nichols of Weatherford, TX, and Andrea (Bob Arp) Arnold of Walker, IA; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his stepsister, Phyllis Randall of Quasqueton, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, James “Jimmy” Arnold; and his sister, Beverly Crump.
