Carpenter, Richard 'Rick'
Richard “Rick” Carpenter, 60, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1844 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Joe Kane.
Survivors include his son, Scott Carpenter of Hiawatha; siblings, Randy (Tina) Ricklefs of Marion, Kobi (Ron) Sawyer of Cedar Rapids, Robin Carpenter of California and Holly Debois of Maine; and nieces, Carrie, Anne, and Hayley Ricklefs.
Rick was born July 23, 1951, in Maryville, Mo., the son of Richard L. Sr. and Eva Dell (Thompson) Carpenter. He worked as a stocker at Walmart for the last four years.
Rick enjoyed sports, including bowling, baseball, football, and pool. He loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rose Sawyer-Baldwin.
A memorial fund has been established.
