Carolyn S. Sequeira, 62, of Marion, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at Cedar Valley Bible Church at 3636 Cottage Grove Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, with visitation an hour prior to service. Pastor Joel DeSousa will be officiating. An additional funeral Mass will be held at
11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Basilica
of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 104 Third St. SW, Dyersville, Iowa, with burial at St. Paul Cemetery in Worthington, Iowa, to follow. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Carolyn was born on Sept. 17, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Jerome and Mary Margaret (Wente) Lansing. She graduated from Dyersville Beckman High School in 1978 and went on to earn her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University, graduating in 1983. She went on to earn her M.B.A. from the University of Dallas in 1988. On May 24, 1986, Carolyn was united in marriage to Marc Sequeira, in Worthington, Iowa. Carolyn worked as an engineer for Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas, before becoming a professional homemaker and volunteer. She was dedicated to serving others and volunteering for St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, Ill., and Cedar Valley Christian School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Carolyn had a passion for Bible study, reading anything she could get hold of, and caring for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carolyn is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Marc Sequeira of Marion; two daughters, Angela Sequeira of Madison, Wis., and Maria Sequeira of Roseville, Minn.; parents, Jerome and Mary Margaret Lansing of Dyersville; three sisters, Janet (Lynn) Nosbisch of Dyersville, Patti (Larry) Mensen of rural Dyersville and Cindy (Ken) Steffen of rural Holy Cross, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, Alicia (Ben) Bina, Mary Nosbisch, Elizabeth (Kelly) Hill, Robert (Sarah) Nosbisch, Michael Nosbisch, Joan (Brent) Brunsman, Andy (Jordan) Mensen, Kim (Eric) Vaske, Monica Steffen and Kevin Steffen.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Barbara Lansing and Kristine Lansing.
