Carolyn K. Roling, 65, of Delaware, Iowa, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. John Catholic Church, Delhi, with a 3 p.m. Scripture service. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. John Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. John R. Kremer. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Delhi. Arrangements by Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Carolyn was born March 11, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of LaVern and Ida Mae (Wessels) Sabers. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Valley schools and NICC. On April 19, 1975, Carolyn married Christopher Roling at St. John Catholic Church in Delhi. She worked at Ertl's and recently retired from Walmart. Carolyn enjoyed fishing, mowing the lawn and cooking. Her greatest joy was her family.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Chris Roling of Delaware; children, Chris (Angie) Roling of Story City, Shelly (Jason) Johannes of Cedar Rapids and Amanda (Tony) Schwendinger of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Hunter, Braydon and Madelyn Roling, T.J. and Kylie Johannes, and Zoey and Cooper Schwendinger; her parents, LaVern and Ida (Wessels) Sabers; and her beloved grandpups, Beasley, Rusty, Kinzzie and Pudge. Carolyn was the oldest of 10 kids. Her surviving brothers and sisters reside in the surrounding areas. She loved Chris' eight siblings as her family as well, most reside in the area, as well as relatives in Missouri and Wyoming.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Dorothy Wessels and Joseph and Elizabeth Sabers; and her beloved pet, Buddy.
