Carolyn Mae Leary, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at her home. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Derek (Lisa) of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Ellen (Rick) Popenhagen of Atkins; granddaughter, Julianne LaCour of Frisco, Texas; and sister-in-law, Judy Armon of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dohn Armon; and sister, Eunice Pillard.
Carolyn was born March 16, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Estella Dostal Armon. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. On Nov. 22, 1969, she married Dale John Leary in Cedar Rapids. She worked many years as a medical coder at Radiology Consultants of Iowa before her retirement in 2015. Carolyn had previously worked at St. Luke's Hospital and Collins Radio.
Carolyn enjoyed attending her children's activities, sports, knitting, crocheting, playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed being outdoors and watching her hummingbirds and listening to the wrens.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
