Carolyn Caylor, 88, of Des Moines, Iowa, died on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, of complications from heart and renal failure.
She was born Carolyn Joy Law to Benjamin Earl and Ruth Loraine Law on July 12, 1934, in Newton, Iowa. She married Rodger Austin Caylor of Newton, Iowa, on Sept. 6, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Ind. She resided most of her adult life in Marion, Iowa, where she was a devoted church member and practiced her Christian Faith. She enjoyed singing, directing the church choir, painting and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodger in 1992; her daughter, Larissa in 2014; and her grandson, Elijah in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Duane (Nancy) Caylor of Dubuque, daughter Lori (Scott) Milsom of Des Moines, son Darden (Belinda) Caylor of St. Peters, Mo., and a brother, Roland (Kay) Law of Newton, Iowa. Carolyn is survived by eight grandchildren, Heather Caylor, Heidi (Brit) Amundson, Hannah (Jon) Grant, Kalene Heaverlo, Caylor Heaverlo, Joshua Caylor, Jonas Caylor and Hope Caylor, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Matt Wiley will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
