CAROLYN C. ZABOKRTSKY
Hiawatha
Carolyn C. Zabokrtsky, 83, of Hiawatha, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021. Per Carolyn's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
Carolyn was born on Dec. 18, 1937, in Chinook, Mont., the daughter of James and Avis Carmichael. She worked at National Oats before moving on to a 28-year career with Quaker Oats, retiring in 2000.
Carolyn was an avid animal lover, taking in many strays over the years. She enjoyed playing the lottery, watching TV, fishing and visiting with neighbors.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Shannon and Carla (Larry) Thurston; and grandson, Ian Shannon.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Stanton Carmichael, Gene Carmichael and William Varner.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her caregivers, daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Larry Thurston; friends, Laura Knoff and Liz and Julie Briggman; the wonderful staff of Hospice of Mercy, especially Karen, Kelly, Kim and Jesse; and Pastor Joe Kane all for the special care they provided Carolyn in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any animal shelter of your choosing.
