Carole Ann Wiltgen, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. A private funeral Mass will be held. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from
4 to 7 p.m. Monday. In accordance with COVID-19 rules, a mask must be worn
at all times.
Carole is survived by her sons, Joe (Sandi) Wiltgen of Ankeny, Don Wiltgen of Rapids City, S.D., and Bob (Barb) Wiltgen of Marion; her daughter, Suzie Wiltgen of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Tanner (Teagen) Wiltgen, Amber Wiltgen, Nick and Tyler Wiltgen, Brittney (Jason) Greer, Kristy (Kevin) Brown, Hannah Glanz, Sara Wiltgen, Ryan (Kennedy) Glanz and Derek (Courtney) Siddell; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Walker, Forest, Collins, Emery, Baylor, Tyler and one on the way in February; her sister, Lorene Porter; and her brother-in-law, Duane Carney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her son, Larry; brother, Lydell (Jane) Kalishek; four sisters, Mary Carney, Verdene (Harvey) Knutson, Ruby (Delbert) Winter and Juanita (Roger) Schluetter; brothers-in-law, Vitalis Andrea and Vern Porter; daughters-in-law, Molli Wiltgen and Kristin Wiltgen; and cousin, Diane Bohnimin.
Carole was born July 11, 1937, in Provitin, the daughter of Reuben and Emma Vsetecka Kalishek and graduated in 1955 from Rudolphinum High School. She married Guy Morris on June 6, 1959, in Provitin. Carole was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Carole was very crafty and enjoyed cross stitch. She liked to put together puzzles, go gambling, garden, fish and spend time with her family on the farm. She also liked watching college sports, especially basketball and football. She was very generous with her time and went out of the way to help others. Carole loved her cats, Smokey and Snickers, and many of her other previous cats. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
