Carole Evelyn Wilson, 81, of Alburnett, passed away March 8, 2025, following complications from a massive stroke in July 2022. Per Carole’s wishes, there will be no memorial or service.
Carole was born October 8, 1943, to Donald B. and Evelyn M. (Wood) Janish. She was united in marriage on March 30, 1964, with her beloved husband, John Palmer Wilson, in Chicago, IL. He passed in 1994, shortly after their thirtieth anniversary, from cancer. Carole was devastated by his loss, and it impacted her remaining years.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Wilson, and Cherie (Joe) Wilson; grandchildren, Zachary Shields, Alexandria (Tim) Shields, Taylor (Spencer) Vanderlind, Nicholas Wilson-White; and one great-granddaughter, Ember Kayte Vanderlind.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Wilson, in 1994, her parents, her youngest brother, David W. Janish, killed in action Feb. 22, 1970, in Vietnam, and her younger brother, Donald B. Janish, Jr. in 2022.
Her daughters would like to issue a special thanks to Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and Essence of Life Hospice, for making Carole’s years since the stroke as comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
