Carole A. Evans, 75, formerly of Kalona and Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carole's name. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the funeral home website at www.gayandciha.com.
Carole Ann Evans was born March 31, 1941, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Marion K. Evans and Mary E. Dillavou. She lived a lifetime with disabilities, working when she could, but always enjoying life, no matter what it gave her. She loved animals, small babies and family outings, and was known to be a bit direct to get her way.
Her family includes her sister, Wanda (Gene) Goddard of Letts and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jolene Dallas.
