Carol Ann (Krogman) Tibbetts, 75, of Mesquite, Nev., formerly of Dyersville, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah, surrounded by her family.
Friends and relatives of Carol may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 29, at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the funeral home. Services for Carol will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, with the Rev. Jeffery Doll presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville.
She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalen (Jaeger) Krogman. She received her education at St. Francis Xavier School in Dyersville. On May 19, 1959, she was united in marriage to Vern Trumm; the couple later divorced. On Nov. 19, 1990, she was united in marriage to Harold Tibbetts in Las Vegas, Nev. She was employed in assembly operations at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 35 years, retiring in September 1996. Upon retiring, she and Harold spent summers in Dyersville and winters in Mesquite, until eventually moving to Mesquite permanently. Carol loved to spend time gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Tibbetts of Mesquite; one son, Rick (Jackie) Trumm of Elgin; one daughter, Shelly (Ray) Osten of Cedar Rapids; two stepsons, Ed (Lisa) Tibbetts of Davenport and Chuck (Lori) Tibbetts of Copperas Cove, Texas; one stepdaughter, Linda (Reggie) Wolfe of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Vranish, Shonda (Luke) Jeffrey and Madeline Trumm; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Samuel, Jackson and Catherine; and her siblings, Rose Greenwood, of Farley, Verla Turnis of Worthington, Vernon Krogman of Dyersville, James (Bev) Krogman of Worthington, Gary (Linda) Krogman of Dyersville and Richard (Debra) Krogman of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Helen (Gilbert) Bahl, Elwood (Eunice) Krogman, Tom Krogman, David Krogman, Leroy Krogman, Joseph (Toots) Krogman, Mary (George) Sorenson, Pearl (Lawrence) Roling, Bonita Krogman and Kathy Foxen; and in-laws, Harold Greenwood, Richard Turnis and Raynette Krogman.
A special thanks to Sharon Powers, Carol's niece, for traveling to Utah to be with Carol during her final days.
