Carol Schillig, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed into eternal life on the morning of Aug. 19, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa, surrounded by her family. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A vigil service with sharing will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, where a visitation will follow until 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 1790 14th St. in Marion, with the Rev. Tyler Raymond officiating. A committal service will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
