Carol was born on May 8, 1962, to Roy and Gwen Stokes, in Spencer, Iowa. She was raised on a family farm in Mallard, Iowa. She graduated from Mallard High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Kal Goodchild. The happy couple married Aug. 3, 1985.
Carol was blessed with a contagious smile and bubbly personality. She took tremendous pride in being a coach's wife for many years and cheering on the Benton Bobcats. Some of her favorite memories were watching her two kids compete in sports at the high school and collegiate level. Most of all she loved spending precious time with her three grandsons. Her grandsons will always remember the special lullaby she sang while rocking them to sleep.
Carol had a knack for interior decorating and found great joy decorating her home for all seasons.
For 30 years, Carol worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Vinton, Iowa, where she built close relationships with her valued customers and loving co-workers.
Carol is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kal Goodchild; their two children, Kyle (Souninh) Goodchild of Clive, Iowa, Kari (Reginald) Willhite of Sacramento, Calif., her three grandchildren; Camden Goodchild, Brecken Goodchild and Krew Willhite; her two sisters, Joann Herbers of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and Janet Rosacker of Lake Park, Iowa, and her mother and father-in-law, Ghervus and Beverly Goodchild of Mallard, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Stokes, and mother, Gwen Stokes.
