Carol Anne Jacobs, 78, of Guttenberg, was called to heaven on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, from the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. She was born on May 29, 1937, in Colesburg, Iowa, the daughter of Russell "Jack" and Violet (Ross) Schenke.
Carol will be forever loved and cherished by her five children, Jeff Jacobs, Dan Jacobs, Doug Jacobs, Sue Jacobs and Sally (Seth) Gilkes; two grandsons, Noah and Thomas Gilkes; sisters-in-law, Carol Schenke and Mary Ford; brother-in-law, Walter (Sue) Jacobs; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Jacobs; brothers, Bernard Neil in infancy and Roger Schenke; and sister-in-law, Anne Schenke.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, and one hour before the service Friday at the church. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neil Hofer officiating. Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.
