Carol A. Franks, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Services will be held at the Wedding Chapel, 1513 First Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, with snacks provided.
Survivors include her husband, Jack (Haught-Dawgg) Franks; daughter, Paula Steggall and her husband, David Steggall; son, Craig Fanks; two brothers, Richard Wegner and Tom Wegner, both of Chicago; three grandchildren, Amber Jorgensen, Brittani Desease and Amber Steggall; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Jorgenson; and her parents, William and Joesphine Wegner.
She was born Dec. 22, 1944, in Chicago. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her three cats and two dogs.
Carol was always willing to help anyone even strangers. She always had a way of making people smile. She touched many people's lives and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
