Carol Ann Feddern, 77, of Marion, passed away in her home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Carol Ann VanDeventer was born March 17, 1941, the daughter of Clell B. and Marjorie Lavonne (Wasson) VanDeventer. She was united in marriage to Gary L. Feddern on June 25, 1966, in Cedar Falls. Carol was an educator for 40 years. She was nominated for the Iowa Teacher of the Year award in 1995. She enjoyed reading, walking and doing things with her grandchildren and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Left to cherish Carol's memories are her son, Shawn Feddern of Marion; grandchildren, Micah and Moriah; and three siblings, Jim VanDeventer of Post Falls, Idaho, Mary (David) Griffin of Richardson, Texas, and Lynne Scheuler of Hebron, Neb.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids in Carol's name.
