CAROL K. DUWA
Iowa City
Carol K. Duwa, 69, of Iowa City, died Monday, April 23, 2018, with her son, Robert J. Duwa; and daughter-in-law, Darlene D. Duwa, by her side.
Carol Kay Lagneaux was born Aug. 10, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Irving James and Mary Catherine (Ramsey) Lagneaux. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Burlington in 1966 then attended the University of Iowa, graduating with a bachelor's of science in mathematics. She spent her 44-year career working in Iowa City at IAC (originally Sheller Globe). She married Larry Lee Duwa on Feb. 2, 1976, in Iowa City. They had two children.
She was an avid lover of collecting Longaberger baskets and antiques, going to movies, attending concerts and watching her favorite game shows. She never missed a question on "Jeopardy!" All who loved her would say she was the smartest woman they knew. But most importantly, Carol devoted her life to her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends.
Carol is survived by her loving daughter, Katherine (Bradley) Pope of Cumming, Ga.; devoted son, Robert (Darlene) Duwa of Coralville; two grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Pope and Colton Ford Pope; brother, Bob (Sue) Lagneaux of Polk City; sister-in-law, Carol Lagneaux of Ceder Rapids; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jean; and a brother, Jim.
