Carol Diane Merck-Leonhardt

Carol Diane Merck-Leonhardt peacefully left this earth on her 74th birthday, August 3, 2024. She joined her parents Marvin Merck and Arlene Devine-Merck, sister Marilyn, Kriz brother-in-law Bob Kriz, brother Nile Merck, nephew Jacob Merck, Aunt Hazel and many close family members and friends. Carol journeyed on to meet them in the unsurpassed peace, beauty and understanding of the heavenly here-after.
Carol will be dearly missed by all who were touched by her light. Family includes brother Michael (Linda) Merck, sister Linda (Leo) Thompson, and many beloved nieces, nephews and grands who have been a dearly loved, shining light in her life.
With Carol’s intellectual disability, she faced challenges and adversity in her early years, but saw herself as no different, lesser, or better than anyone. Carol was a social butterfly who brought smiles and laughter to many who crossed her path. Always young at heart, she has such a beautiful soul whose light will shine forever more.

A private family service and burial will be held at Cedar Memorial, Cedar Rapids, Ia.
In Carol’s loving memory, show an act of kindness to someone today. She loved all who she knew and was loved by many.
