Carney Ryan, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Cedar Memorial Family Center. Private interment: St Joseph Cemetery.
Survivors include children, Michael Ryan, Kathy Tegen of Cedar Rapids, Jason Ryan of Fort Dodge and Vence (Heryadi) Ryan of Vancouver, British Columbia; grandchildren, Charity (Brian) Hudson and Alix (Matt) Shada; and sisters, Agnes Holmes and Veronica Minor of Cedar Rapids.
Carney was preceded in death by his wife, Katie; a son, Mark; three sisters; and two brothers.
Carney was born Feb. 20, 1936, to John Ryan and Frances Carney. He married Katie Patterson on Sept. 8, 1956, in Cedar Rapids. Carney worked for Iowa Manufacturing for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered fondly and dearly missed.
