Carlson, Helen Marie
Helen Marie Carlson, 96, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at Silvercrest of Anamosa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Pastor Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Internment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving are her sons Albert Jr. “Sonny” (Helen) and Jim (Merva), both of Anamosa; four grandchildren and spouses; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; a brother, John; four sisters Margaret, Bernice, Louise and Mable; and great-granddaughter, Sarah.
Helen Marie Theilen was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Elsie Tholen Theilen. Helen worked for Reliant Shirt Factory, Hayden Produce and Coast to Coast. On June 25, 1936, Helen and Albert Carlson were united in marriage in Anamosa, Iowa. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. She enjoyed time with her family, her birthday club, her casino, bingo, card playing friends, the many friends she made though her years as an Avon lady and will be missed by all.
