CARLIN JOHN BURMEISTER Lowden Carlin John Burmeister, 67, of Lowden, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at home, having fought a courageous battle with cancer for two years. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, by the Rev. Daniel Redhage. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. He was born Feb. 7, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Norman and Blanche (Rixe) Burmeister. Carlin graduated from Trinity Lutheran School in 1963 and Lowden High School in 1967. He loved his farm and was a very good caretaker of the land. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a past elder and trustee. Carlin was an Army veteran, having serving two years in Germany. Survivors include a twin sister, Carlene (Joel) Kohlhoff of Corning; brothers, LeRoy of Lowden and LaMoyne (Sally) of Clarence; nephews, Zach Kohloff and Jason (Jenna) Burmeister; great-niece, Emma Burmeister; and great-nephew, Hayden Burmeister.
