Carlene B. Steen, 64, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Harry Hines Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kan., following a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, at St, Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa. Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monticello. Friends may call from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a parish vigil service will be at 1:30 p.m.

Surviving are two daughters, Angela (Bill) Vincent, Wichita, Kan., and Christina (Lee) Wethers, Kansas City, Mo.; her mother, Barbara Martin, Anamosa; a brother, Allen (Marie) Steen, Walker; a sister, JoEllen (Dean) Holub, Marion; two stepbrothers, Larry (Becky) Martin and Gary (Judy) Martin, both of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; a brother, Robert; step-father, W.H. Martin; and stepsister, Mary Lou Martin.
Carlene Barbara Steen was born Aug. 29, 1949, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of John and Barbara Redmond Steen. She attended St. Patrick's in Anamosa and graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools in 1967. She was married to Clay June from 1967 until 1984. The couple were the parents of twin girls, Angela and Christina.
Carlen had been employed at Collins Radio and U.S. Cellular. She returned to school and got her R.N. degree in 1994 at Bethel College in Newton, Kan.
