Carl M. Watts, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at his home. Per Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements made by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include his children, Jeffrey, Emily and Christopher; sister, Barb Smith; and seven grandchildren.
Carl was born Oct. 17, 1948, in Joplin, Mo., son of Mac and Frieda (Lehrling) Watts. He was raised in Seneca, Mo. He graduated from Seneca High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and track, and was a member of the National Honor Society. Carl attended Missouri Southern College in 1967 and graduated from Drake University in 1970. He married Winnie Kay Weinmann in 1970; they later divorced. Carl was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. from 1970 to 1980 and by Rockwell International from 1980 to 1994. He was a friend of Bill W.
