Carl Michael David, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, in Southlake, Texas, at the age of 87.
Carl was a devoted keeper of family memories, known for his warm storytelling, deep faith, and unwavering love for his church. A lifelong member of St. George Orthodox Church, Carl’s spiritual life was a guiding light. He found great joy in the outdoors, was an avid fisherman, and held a special place in his heart for his cherished pets. Carl was an incredibly kind and loving man who never met a stranger.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane Joy David, and his daughters, Michelle David and Jeannette Meyer.
Carl is survived by his loving children: Daneen Riley (Terry), Christine Beerup (Timothy), Amy Cable (Michael), Jerry Meyer (Regina Gilloon-Meyer), and James Meyer (Dawn Wise).
He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry his legacy forward.
Visitation will be held June 4, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Trisagion. Funeral services will take place June 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Both will be held at St. George Orthodox Church, 3650 Cottage Grove Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials and donations be directed to St. George Orthodox Church.
The family wishes to thank all who have offered their love and support during this time of remembrance.
