CARL HENDRICKSON JR.
Cedar Rapids
Carl W. Hendrickson Jr., 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 11, 2015, in the health center at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids. His family will host a celebration of Carl's life on Sunday, July 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 801 33rd Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Care wanted his obituary to be brief and to the point.
Survivors include his wife, Sally; and two sons, Torger Hendrickson and Erik (Keri) Hendrickson, and their children, Jan and Ryan.
His family members would like to add that Carl practiced law for many years, retiring in 1992 from the law firm of Nazette, Hendrickson, Marner and Good.
Carl had a quick wit and enjoyed telling jokes and puns, sometimes telling them over and over again. He also had a knack for nicknaming people and, on occasion, would forget the person's real name.
Carl, being the creature of habit that he was, for many years enjoyed his gin martinis at table 19 at the Vernon Inn "The Greek Place." He also enjoyed being the "celebrity of the day" at the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous of Iowa, P.O. Box 418, Monticello, IA 52310, in memory of Carl.
Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.cedarmemorial.com under Obituaries.
