Carl Ficken, 88, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Carl was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954, and was grateful to participate in an Honor
Flight in 2013. He was a devoted Christian family man. He enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors.
Left to cherish Carl's memories are his wife of 60 years, Jean Ficken; two children, Jodi (Kevin) Edwards of Kansas City, Mo., and David Ficken of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Michael and Kelsey Edwards and Zachary and Mitchell Ficken; brother, Ed Ficken; sisters, Lillian Johnson and Venita Muller; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Unity Point Hospice, both in Cedar Rapids.
