Carl David Evans was released from Alzheimer's disease Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Solon Retirement Village (Memory Care Unit) at the age of 83 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Richard) Bohrn of Iowa City; three sons, Richard (Julie) Evans and Robert Evans, all of Williamsburg, and Paul (Amy) Evans of Cedar Park, Texas; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Murray (Lynn) Evans of Williamsburg; and two sisters, Ruth Baker of Arizona and Gladys Beasley of Marengo.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat; a son, Stephen; two grandsons, Calvin and Chad Evans; a brother, Edward; and two sisters, Evelyn Griffin and Lucille Raasch.
A Celebration of Life memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice or Solon Retirement Village Foundation.
