Carl Duggan, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday Nov. 7, 2014, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry Duggan; four children, Debbie (Lionel) Miller, Rick Klein, JoEllen (Stanley) Kaiser and Jessica (Scott) Muters, all of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren, Erik, Brooke, Josh, Scott, Brandon, Nicole, Megan, George, Christian, Mia and Maxten; nine great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Jeffery and Douglas; one brother; two sisters; grandchild, Isabella; and great-grandchild, Leasiah.
Carl Duggan was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Harold and Letha (Lyons) Duggan. He married Sherry Langfitt on March 19, 1965, in Quincy, Ill. Carl was employed at Iowa Man Manufacturing as a welder and proudly retired in 2008. Carl was known for telling great stories and opening his home up to foster children. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, building and creating things, but he especially enjoyed the time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
