Carl L. Crane, 95, a resident of Northbrook Manor, died there Monday, March 14, 2016. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Don (Barb) of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Lisa (Dan) Ripley of Hiawatha, Sharon (Eric) Deitz of Davenport and Nancy (Joe) Omundson of Bondurant. He also is survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Carol Seng; one brother; one sister; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Donelson.
Carl was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Morgan County, Mo., the son of Earl and Pearl Bowles Crane. He married Marjory E. Underberg on June 12, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. Marjory passed away in 2010.
Carl
worked in refrigeration at Rapids Inc. and retired from there after more than 40 years of service.
Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting in his younger years, playing cards, reading, baseball, and served proudly in the Navy during World War II.
Carl enjoyed the time spent with his beloved family and many friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
