Canady, Floyd Edwin
Floyd Edwin Canady, 86, of the Meth-Wick Community, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at the Woodlands. His body has been donated to the University of Iowa for research. No services are planned.
Floyd was born August 31, 1924, in Dunbar, W.V.
He is survived by his wife, Hollis; sons, Vaugh (Sandy) Canady of Viborg, S.D., and Claude (Lyn) of Homosassa Springs, Fla.; stepson, Meryl (Jan) Hartung of Mount Vernon; stepdaughters, Marilyn (Don) Kruger of Sibley, and Teresa (Larry) Dalenta of Red Feather Lakes, Colo.; also six grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters of West Virginia; also an infant daughter, Tona; and infant granddaughter, Candice.
Floyd served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked over 30 years for the Milwaukee Railroad. He most recently attended New Covenant Bible Church and was a member of All Church Singles.
