Campbell, Florence
Florence Campbell, 95, of Loveland, Colo., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. She was born on Oct. 28, 1916, in Elkader, Iowa, to George and Hilda (Lemka) Hubbard and raised on the family farm.
She graduated from high school in Elkader, and in 1941 graduated from the Evangelical Deaconess School of Nursing in Marshalltown, Iowa, and became a registered nurse. After moving to Loveland in 1965, she worked at Loveland Memorial Hospital and the Good Samaritan Village until her retirement.
While in Marshalltown, she met and married Donnell Campbell in 1942.
Florence enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting, family and friends, church activities and compassionate caring for others as a nurse.
She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Loveland.
Florence is survived by a son, William (Carole) of Centennial, Colo.; a sister, Mary Bankes of Elkader; a brother, Harry Hubbard of Elkader; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 41 years.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Sterling House of Loveland for the extraordinary loving care they gave to Florence for the past 8 ½ years, and to the staff at Pathways Hospice for the compassionate care and support during her final days.
Funeral service, 2 p.m. Tuesday First Congregational Church. Interment, Loveland Burial Park. Viewing will be held at the church before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Congregational Church for the Restoration Fund or Pathways Hospice, in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, Loveland, Colo.
